If you provide your services online, than it’s imperative that you constantly search for clients. If you do, then you will notice a change in your earnings. Here are some different techniques that you can use to gain more of the clients that you need to succeed online.
Industry Forums
Potential clients like to hang out in industry forums. You can meet future clients here. If there is a services section, you will certainly meet new clients. For example, online copywriters need to go to webmaster forums, and create a post offering online copywriting services.
Craigslist
You can either create a post offering your services on Craigslist, or you can respond to posts asking for your services. People are looking for a great deal on Craigslist, so make it at least sound that way. Just don’t sell yourself short trying to get the business. Not making enough on a job just isn’t worth it in the long run.
Working With Established Firms
If you are a freelancer, then it’s easier to sub-contract with firms, instead of having to find your own clients. Many firms will outsource their work to freelancers anyway. You might as well be one of the freelancers that they hire. They will charge their clients a fee, and then pay a lower fee, keeping a commission for themselves. If you are in need of work, or if you need to build a portfolio, then this can be a great option for you.
Guru and eLance
These are online freelancing websites. They are a bit challenging to figure out at first, but people do get jobs here. Also, there are many people who don’t want to pay much money. But there are some clients who are willing to pay a contractor what they are worth. Make sure you build your reputation so you can compete for the better paying jobs.
Promote Your Own Brand
Build your own website to promote your work. It won’t give you quick upfront money, but it will give you credibility, and a following. People will start finding you, and asking you to work for them. The key is to build a brand for yourself. Sell what sets you apart from the rest.
You can build a business around any of these tips. Try one, and see how it works. Try another and learn even more! You’ll be surprised at how well it will work for you!
